4 amazing recycling ideas to revive your old stuff!

4 amazing recycling ideas to revive your old stuff!

We all know that we should help save the planet, but it’s super hard, right? Actually, it’s a lot easier than you might think. To recognise the importance of recycling, Liberty Living has launched #BinDoingMyBit, a competition to support our Green Living campaign and encourage you to find cool ways to reuse, donate or repurpose items that you no longer want!

Think you can get on board? It’s time to get creative and show us how one man’s trash can be another man’s treasure.

Here are four great examples of recycling projects that might give you some inspiration!

1. Sleep is music to our ears

Love music? Love sleeping? Whoever thought of this was a total genius, then. If you’ve got a bunch of band T shirts which no longer fit (don’t worry, weight change happens to the best of us at Uni), here is the perfect solution. Personalise your duvet and impress – or embarrass – your friends with your music taste by sewing together band merch to make an absolutely brilliant quilt cover!

2. Hey, no need to be salty!

… You can be peppery, too! Once your light bulbs have had their day, there’s no need to throw them out – they make the perfect new homes for your seasoning. If you’re getting into the swing of things in your kitchen here at Liberty Living, this is the one for you!

3. For the record, this one’s amazing!

Records are seriously in, in a big way! Retro is cool again, but with great sound comes great responsibility. If your records are scratched beyond repair, whatever you do, don’t bin them. If you’ve got an artistic side, why not create some super-cool art? Absolutely perfect for showing off when you have friends and family over to visit!

4. The ball’s in your court here!

Play tennis and don’t know what to do with those old tennis balls? Here’s your answer. University is awesome, but we do miss our family and friends back home so here’s a great way to keep them close! These tennis ball photo holders are so cheap to make and they look amazing!

Like what you see? It’s time to put those thinking caps on and show us some cool ideas of your own. You’ve got until Sunday 26th February 2017 to submit your entry on Instagram and the winner will be announced on Friday 3rd March 2017 – so make sure you keep a look out!
