Student Volunteering Week - Volunteer for CRUK!

This Student Volunteering Week Liberty Living is joining Cancer Research UK to join forces in the fight against cancer. Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. They’ve saved millions of lives by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, and survival has doubled over the past 40 years. Back then only a quarter of people survived – today more than half will beat cancer. Cancer Research UK’s ambition is to accelerate progress and see 75% of people surviving the disease within the next 20 years.

But we can only beat cancer with YOUR help!

There are so many ways of getting involved with Cancer Research UK – from volunteering in their shops to taking part in a 10k run. So for Student Volunteering Week we are asking you to volunteer – volunteer your time, volunteer your skills, volunteer your energy and volunteer your creativity!

Volunteering your time in a Cancer Research UK shop raises vital cash for research, for clinical trials and for scientific breakthroughs. On average, during every shift you donate, your local shop will raise £100 through sold goods. There are so many different roles available – we need you to help process stock, dress window displays, curate the books section, drive stock around, help behind the till, and so much more! We need your knowledge of music to promote our media section or your fashion skills to make sure the mannequins are dressed in the best outfits – whatever your skill, your shop is looking for you!

You can also boost your CV skills. Volunteering in your local shop will allow you to build customer service skills, hone your marketing expertise and perfect your business talent. You’ll also learn about team work as every shop has a fantastic group of volunteers who all work together to raise as much money as possible. At the end of your time volunteering with them, Cancer Research UK will also provide a reference too!

To volunteer in your local shop, click here and the friendly team at Cancer Research UK will contact you. You can gain skills, build your CV, and raise vital funds at the same time! Now that’s multitasking at its finest!
