Your guide to the best UK Drink Festivals 2017

Whether you enjoy beverages of the alcoholic or hot persuasion – or both – there are plenty of festivals around the UK to cater to your tastes. Whether you need five cups of coffee a day to survive, or five beers (just kidding!), there’s bound to be something you’ll enjoy.

Here are just a few to wet (yes, not whet), your appetite!

Craft Beer Festivals

Beer connoisseur? You’re going to love the London Craft Beer Festival and the Edinburgh Craft Beer Festival! Fans can flock from all over the country, but our students in London and Glasgow are especially encouraged to join! Sample the finest craft beer around (its okay to be a snob about it), and listen to live music at the same time.

Dates:

  • May 26th – 28th, 2017; Edinburgh Biscuit Factory
  • August 6th – 8th, 2017; Shoreditch Electric Light Station

City Beerfest

Whether you’re staying in our London student accommodation or just coming down for the weekend, this is bound to be one of the highlights of the summer! At City Beerfest, they’ll be brewing up a ton of fun, thanks to an amazing selection of beers from top British breweries, as well as adding music and yummy stalls into the mix. They’ve nailed it four years in a row; and the fifth will be no exception!

Dates:

  • July 6th, 2017; Guildhall Yard, City of London

Birmingham Coffee Festival

Not a fan of alcoholic beverages? Or perhaps you just really like coffee? Birmingham Coffee Festival will be right up your street! The two days will bring 40 of the best independent coffee shops together, so that you can sip their finest blends and enjoy the full coffee shop experience – alfresco style!

Dates:

  • July 1st – 2nd, 2017; Birmingham’s Custard Factory

The Oxford Wine Festival

Like a glass of wine (or two) after a particularly stressful day? Why not get into savouring the flavours more and head along to the Oxford Wine Festival? It’s not too far from London, and it’s worth the trip to find award-winning, rare and unusual wines. Plus, it’s an excuse to drink whilst looking “sophisticated”.

Dates:

  • September 8th – 9th, 2017; Oxford Union

Heading to one of the drink festivals? Drink responsibly (and yes, that includes the coffee drinkers)! You don’t have to be obsessed; just up for a great day out – hopefully the sun will be shining, too.
