Liberty Court is named 'Best Hall of Residence of the Year' 2013 in Preston
UCLAN Students’ Union holds its first Accommodation Fair
Last Thursday saw the Students' Union hold its first ever accommodation fair and awards event. The event saw over 15 stalls attend including local student accommodation providers and services including the City Council, Police and Fire Service.
The event was the result of Sophie Bennetts 'Love it or Hate it? Rate it!' Campaign which launched earlier in the academic year, and was the Students' Union first ever major consultation on the experiences of students living in halls.
Campaigns Officer Sophie Bennett said:
“The accommodation fair was a huge first step in developing our work around supporting students in accommodation. The results of the survey while largely positive highlight the desire for students to better informed consumers prior to signing their contract of which I hope events like these will help. I believe we have set a strong foundation and hope to see the campaign grow in the years to come!”
The survey, event and awards are set to become an annual project led by the Campaigns Officer and supported by the Advice and Representation Centre which provides free accommodation advice and contract checking.

We are delighted that the students have voted Liberty Court the ‘Hall of Residence the Year’ given how many residences there are in Preston.
