Liberty Living celebrate partnership with Cancer Research UK
Liberty Living celebrated the success of their partnership with Cancer Research UK at their Manager’s Annual Conference at Coombe Abbey in Coventry last week.
Having worked closely with Cancer Research UK for the past year, the partnership has blossomed with donation stations in every residence for students to donate unwanted items. Together with student volunteering opportunities in Cancer Research UK shops and fundraising during campaigns such as 'Stand Up To Cancer'.
Jessica Hudson from Cancer Research UK gave an inspiring presentation revealing that students at Liberty Living have donated £40,000 of stock so far. Jessica went on to describe how money raised will be used to help meet their goal of ‘beating cancer sooner’; they’d like to increase the cancer survival rate from 1 in 4 to 2 in 4.
As a tribute, staff at Liberty Living held a charity raffle shortly after the presentation which raised £4,650.
We also work closely with Just Giving, the World’s leading fundraising platform, who placed Liberty Living in the top 1% of fundraisers for 2014.
