Cardiff University accommodation is conveniently located just moments from its campus, and you’ll find residences very close to Cardiff Metropolitan University, the University of South Wales and the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama too.
Cardiff cuisine offers the best of both worlds, with traditional dishes being just as easy to find as international food. There are throngs of artisan bakeries and quirky cafes waiting to be discovered, not to mention a range of popular chain restaurants in Cardiff Bay.
For fresh, local produce, the Riverside Market is brimming with delicious options. For foreign foods, you’ll always be able to find Indian, Moroccan, Portuguese and Thai nearby. Student halls in Cardiff are practically surrounded by food choices, so if you choose to study in the city, your taste buds will not be disappointed.
Things to do
Cardiff’s blend of cultural heritage and green spaces means there are plenty of ways for students to entertain weekend visitors. In fact, you’d struggle to show them everything that the Welsh capital has to offer in just one weekend, which is a great excuse to keep your guests coming back!
Cardiff claims to have more castles than any other city in the world. You’ve probably heard of the iconic Cardiff Castle, but there are plenty more in the surrounding Glamorgan County to see as well.
If you choose to live in private halls in Cardiff, you won’t be far from the central St David’s Centre, which boasts over 150 shops, restaurants and cafés (not to mention cinema and golf).

Liberty Living operates in accordance with the National Code of Standards for student accommodation. The Code of Standards is run by ANUK (The Accreditation Network UK), the NUS, and Unipol Student Homes, and is supported by universities across the UK.
Liberty Living joined the Code of Standards to give our students peace of mind. You can be assured that you will enjoy a high standard of living in accordance with the Code of Standards, and a prompt resolution to problems should they ever occur when you stay at any of Liberty Living’s residences.
Liberty Living follow a distinct set of standards for our student accommodation, called the ANUK/Unipol National Codes. The purpose of these Codes, (membership of which is voluntary), is to provide students with professional housing services.
The standards chosen for the Codes reflect a balance of common sense obligations and responsibilities between landlords and tenants. They also reflect established best practice in the sector and are based on what an average student and their parents would expect of a good quality housing supplier. The standards are supported by the voice of students themselves through the National Union of Students.
What does being a member of the codes mean?
- Both parties can enjoy the benefits of good standards of housing management and practice.
- Misunderstandings and disputes are reduced.
- If problems do occur they can be promptly resolved.
- The independent complaints procedure operated by the Codes can be used for complaint resolution.
