There are around 900 students at any time at RCS, so it’s an intimate experience where you will receive strong support throughout. The University can award its own degrees right up to Masters level and anything higher is provided by prestigious institutions across the country.

The prospects for graduates of RCS are excellent, and there are partnerships with huge companies like the National Theatre of Scotland and the BBC to provide students with some incredible opportunities.

The Conservatoire is based in the vibrant and culturally significant city of Glasgow, and as a result it’s also a busy performing arts venue, and audiences exceed 40,000 people in any given year.

RCS aims to provide a contemporary, informed and relevant curriculum for modern times which will set its graduates up to excel. Boundaries will be pushed and the very top talent will be harnessed and used so students can achieve their creative potential.

The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland offers its students that little bit extra. When you stay in our RCS accommodation, we do exactly the same thing.

  2. The campus

The tuition is top-class, and so are you – as a valued student. Why shouldn’t the campus be, too? The facilities at RCS are among the best in Europe and a lot of investment has gone into these to ensure that they remain competitive.

For a start, the performance spaces at RCS host hundreds of events per year to an adoring public of over 40,000. Developments in recent years have also been to the actual rehearsal spaces as well as several studios across all disciplines. The RCS also have the RED one digital camera which allows students on the Digital Film and Television programme to shoot in RED HD cinema. They were the first to be able to do so, and the technology at the University keeps on improving by the year so they’ll remain unsurpassed.

The campus sits in a creative hub and so there have been generous urban regeneration programmes. The Scottish Opera and the National Theatre of Scotland sit just across the way.

It’s not just music and arts facilities which are exemplary – you’ll be able to conduct your studies easily, too, thanks to IT facilities and labs which have also been worked on.

The GSU accommodation that we provide puts you at the heart of Glasgow as well as right on the doorstep of where the campus magic happens, so the city really is your oyster.
