Leeds Arts University accommodation

There aren’t many independent arts schools in the UK, but of those that do exist, Leeds Arts University is a top choice – and with our student accommodation in Leeds you’ll be located in one of the best possible cities to inspire your creativity.

  1. General information

There aren’t many independent arts schools in the UK, but of those that do exist, Leeds Arts University is a top choice. In fact, it’s the top choice of independent art school in the whole of the UK, and as you might have guessed from its name, the institution is based in Leeds.

The community is close-knit and friendly and because of this ethos, you’re always encouraged by the positivity required to not only achieve your goals, but to grow and develop in the area of art which interests you most.

Leeds Arts University is proud of its reputation which has allowed such great artists as Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth to study there, as well as Marcus Harvey, Damien Hirst, Danny Sangra and Omar Kashoura. This is not, however, a school which allows itself to rely on the past – Leeds Arts University is never complacent and works tirelessly to always lead in the areas they care about most. There are always room for more ‘big names’ – perhaps even you – but there’s a lot to be said about the many individual achievements which also happen as a result of a specialised education here.

When it comes to the staff, you’ll be well looked after. Not only are they excellent, the ratios are fantastic to allow for plenty of personal attention and the kind of advice and expertise that many others can only dream of.

There are plenty of degree options available from undergraduate to maters, and there is even the chance to take GCSEs or A Levels.

Students come from all over the word to seize the opportunity for artistic development. There’s a really welcoming atmosphere and it allows for students to fit in and be comfortable enough to do really well.

Our accommodation at Leeds Arts University is in such a fantastic location in a vibrant student city. You’re in one of the best possible cities to inspire your creativity.

  2. The campus

With less than 1000 students every year, the numbers are somewhat modest for there to be an entire campus dedicated just for Leeds Arts University. The intimate amount of students simply highlights the prestige associated with the school and the honour that attending it can bring. The college has two sites in Leeds city centre.

However, Leeds itself is a bustling city with some of the highest numbers of students in the country. There is so much to do and inspire your studies, and plenty of facilities to keep you busy all the time.

As you might expect, there is an emphasis on art and culture, both of which Leeds has in abundance. The institution encourages seeing everything it has to offer as part of study.

Of course, every College or University should have a student union, and Leeds Arts University is no exception. They’ll help with everything from fitting in, to joining a club or society or even keeping fit.

Our Leeds Arts University accommodation is on the doorstep of both your College’s facilities and everything the amazing city itself has to offer, so you’re in for a great time and a full student experience.

  3. Undergraduate study

There are a range of fascinating courses available to you at Leeds Arts University. You will be encouraged and pushed in the most supportive possible way to achieve your potential through a multitude of mediums, depending on the particular side of the artistic world that you wish to get into.

You will be challenged at every step to think outside the box, whether you want to study visual arts, multimedia, fashion or any other of the exciting courses on offer to you at undergraduate level. Teaching staff will impart their wisdom and expertise onto you and combined with your existing talents, this will help you to truly prosper. There will be a multitude of opportunities to make a name for yourself and get your foot on the ladder.

Our Leeds Arts University accommodation is perfectly located to ensure that you’re right on the doorstep of the incredible opportunities you’ll be blessed with over your time in the city.

  4. Postgraduate study

Postgraduate study can give you an edge and help you to stand out from the crowd (which is great in the art world). There is only one postgraduate programme at Leeds Arts University, but it’s a powerful one which will give you the tools to really push the boundaries alongside other committed individuals like you.

The Master of Arts in Creative Practice has been devised for creative practitioners. Whether you’re a recent graduate or a working professional wishing to explore their practice in their own direction, you’ll be able to develop as an individual in your work and beyond. You’ll have excellent guidance but you’ll ultimately be in charge of your destiny.

Our Leeds Arts University accommodation gives you the space to be as free and creative as you need. You’ll have the perfect balance between private study time and socialising as there will be other students around you to give you a well-deserved break.

  6. Navigation_pink_Ratings.svg Accreditations

Liberty Living operates in accordance with the National Code of Standards for student accommodation. The Code of Standards is run by ANUK (The Accreditation Network UK), the NUS, and Unipol Student Homes, and is supported by universities across the UK.

Liberty Living joined the Code of Standards to give our students peace of mind. You can be assured that you will enjoy a high standard of living in accordance with the Code of Standards, and a prompt resolution to problems should they ever occur when you stay at any of Liberty Living’s residences.

All of Liberty Living’s residences have been accredited by ANUK and run in accordance with the National Code of Standards.

    National Code of Standards logo

Liberty Living follow a distinct set of standards for our student accommodation, called the ANUK/Unipol National Codes. The purpose of these Codes, (membership of which is voluntary), is to provide students with professional housing services.

The standards chosen for the Codes reflect a balance of common sense obligations and responsibilities between landlords and tenants. They also reflect established best practice in the sector and are based on what an average student and their parents would expect of a good quality housing supplier. The standards are supported by the voice of students themselves through the National Union of Students.

What does being a member of the codes mean?

    • Both parties can enjoy the benefits of good standards of housing management and practice.
    • Misunderstandings and disputes are reduced.
    • If problems do occur they can be promptly resolved.
    • The independent complaints procedure operated by the Codes can be used for complaint resolution.
