The position of the residence means you will never be far from the diverse and exciting social scene the city has to offer.

If you’re looking to eat out, or aren’t in the mood to cook there are absolutely loads of fabulous restaurants available locally. TGI Friday’s and a Chinese restaurant are a short walk away, and there is also a local pub called The Fox and Newt which does great food and hosts live bands every week.

The city centre is around a 10 minute walk from Liberty Park and is home to an assortment of national chain restaurants, such as Nando’s, Wagamama, Cafe Rouge, and Gourmet Burger Kitchen.

In regards to nightlife, there is literally something for everyone. Leeds not only has the usual big name bars and nightclubs found in most big cities, but also some locally owned independent bars and clubs.

Call Lane and Albion Street are extremely popular with students and have a range of bars to enjoy throughout the week. Some favourites include: Revolution, Norman Bar, Jake's Bar, Tiger Tiger, Bar Chick, Yates’s, and The Backroom Leeds.

Some of Leeds’ most popular nightclubs include: Space, Mission, Hifi Club and Key Club, all of which can be found within the city centre where there is an event on every night of the week.

  2. What's around

Liberty Park is located on Marlborough Street, a 10 minute walk from the city centre of Leeds and the city’s higher educational establishments. There is plenty to see and do around the city that will keep you entertained during your time in University.

Liberty Park is best suited for students studying at Leeds College, University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University. Each University is  within walking distance from the property – under 15 minutes away, making getting to lectures stress free.

Leeds has superb shopping facilities with various shopping malls, such as Trinity Leeds, The Merrion Centre, The Corn Exchange and hundreds of vintage boutiques. There are also a range of designer and high street shops in the city centre, and they’re only10 minutes’ walk from Liberty Park.

If you like the outdoors and relaxing outside of lectures, visit Roundhay Park; one of the biggest parks in Europe. You’ll only have to travel 10 minutes on the bus from the accommodation, but it’s well worth a visit.

To get a snippet of Leeds’s history, visit The Hyde Park Picture House; Leeds’ purpose built 101-year-old cinema. It’s the only gas-lit cinema remaining in the UK, and is bursting full of history inside. It’s just 20 minutes away by bus, and it’s so quirky and such a different way to enjoy film that you’ll be sure to love it

If art is your thing, visit Leeds Art Gallery which houses the Henry Moore Centre for the Study of Sculpture – 10 minutes from Liberty Park. Alternatively why not see what one of Leeds’ Museums has to offer? The Abbey House Museum, the Royal Armouries, and Leeds City Museum are all located just 15 minutes from the property, so you’ve no excuse not to take in a little culture!

Finally, restaurants, cafés and bars also surround the Millennium Square, perfect to enjoy a bite to eat or drink in summer months.

If walking and the outdoors are your thing, you should take full advantage of being in the Yorkshire Dales and go explore the beautiful scenic surroundings.

There are more than 100 tennis courts in the parks around the city, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, and cricket and rugby pitches to enjoy. Whatever you enjoy, Leeds has something to suit everyone.

We get it. Not everybody has huge stacks of cash lying around to pay the rent for the year upfront. If you’ve got some stashed away, that’s fine – we offer a 2% discount when you pay for the academic year upfront. However, for everyone else, there’s the option of paying in three instalments to make things easier. We’ve ever-so-thoughtfully planned these expected payment dates to coincide with the typical student loan payment schedule, but you can have a chat with us if this doesn’t quite match your student loan payment dates and we’ll see what we can do to help.

At the point of booking, all we need is a £200 booking fee to secure your room, together with details of a Guarantor for all UK students plus those looking to pay their rent in instalments. Your first instalment of rent won’t be due until the first day of your contract.

      Extending your stay

Can’t get enough of Liberty Living? We don’t blame you! But seriously, if you want to stay a little longer than you originally expected, have a chat with your Residence Team about how we can help. We offer summer bookings in all of our accommodation too so you can stick around a while longer to enjoy everything the city or town has to offer. Perhaps you’re staying for further study, or maybe you just want the opportunity to have some fun while you don’t have lectures – either way, we’d be happy to have you here providing we have the space.

We also allow you to come back year after year with some great discounts when you rebook. Talk to us if you’re pretty sure you’re not ready to leave and we’ll give you all the information you need.

    Enhancing your Student Experience

Our dedicated Student Experience programme has been created to ensure that every single one of you has the best stay possible when you live with us. Whether it is coming along to our social events and activities to meet new people, getting involved in fundraising and volunteering for some amazing charities, or popping along to drop in sessions to seek advice on finances, wellbeing and careers, we have something for you.

We understand that University can sometimes be an overwhelming experience, but don’t worry our team are great at giving advice on and mediating in all kinds of welfare issues that you may experience, such as homesickness, difficulty in getting on with flatmates, noise complaints, relationship problems, partying too hard and having trouble with studies.

Also, if you need more guidance, we have great relationships with our University partners and their support departments to help and guide you.

Follow the link to find out more about our Student Experience programme.

The best choice for international students

Coming to the UK to study from abroad? Welcome! We love catering to students from all over the world and learning a thing or two about their culture. Luckily, we’ve already got plenty of experience with this as we currently have around 4,500 international students staying with us, so you’re certainly not alone.

When you stay with Liberty Living your safety is the most important thing to us. We understand that you’re a long way from home and you want to feel comfortable and secure at all times. We have amazing staff on hand 24 hours a day, from the Residence Team, right through to Security who’ll keep an eye out for you overnight as well as CCTV. Contents insurance covering your possessions is included as standard in your rent, so your stuff is protected, and any parcels you have delivered will be well looked after until you can come to collect them.

Of course, we want you to have fun and make the most of your time here, too. You can always come to us with any problems,, or even just for a chat. A new country can be confusing, so we’ve got loads of tips for things to do, too – just ask! Many of our staff members are multilingual, so don’t be shy if English isn’t your first language; if we can’t immediately offer support in your native tongue, we’ll point you in the direction of someone who can. We’ll do our best to help you settle in and make friends, and we can point you in the right direction for any visa, welfare or University advice you may need.

We can’t wait to meet you!
