  1. Social scenes

Located within the heart of Liverpool’s University district, Liberty Atlantic Point is located a 5 minute bus ride from the city centre, and if you fancy a walk, it’s just 15 minutes away. The residence benefits from being a short distance from local amenities, bars, pubs and restaurants, catering for all cultures and tastes – so you’ll never be short of things to see and do.

The area of Concert Square in the city centre is popular among students and is one of the liveliest spots in the city. The Square has an array of bars, including Revolution, Walkabout, and The Krazyhouse, three floors of absolute madness. Matthew Street is also a popular student haunt, and it’s widely known for The Cavern Club – where the world famous group, The Beatles honed their skills.

The Albert Dock is the more up-market side of Liverpool and is just a brisk 20 minute walk from your new student accommodation. The Dock is famous in Liverpool and makes up the largest group of Grade 1 listed buildings in the country – the super posh kinds that are protected by law! Albert Dock has loads to see and do, including: international art, award-winning museums and attractions, great bars and restaurants, gift shops and two hotels. With their closeness to Liberty Atlantic Point, the fancy, rather more cultured drinking establishments are great for that special night out – just make sure that you dress to impress!

Food lovers will relish in the fact that Liverpool city centre has hundreds of diverse places to eat out. Some tasty favourites to try include Almost Famous, San Carlo, Yard Bird and The Art School, which hopes to get the city’s very first Michelin Star!

  2. What's around

Liberty Atlantic Point is located on Naylor Street, less than a 10 minute walk to Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) Byrom Street campus.

The city centre can also be reached on foot in 15 minutes and is home to an abundance of high street and independent stores. The stunning Liverpool One, traditional Clayton Square and up-market The Met Quarter are the main shopping centres in the city and feature many high street names and independent boutiques – perfect for some retail therapy in your spare time.

If you’re a fan of art and history, why not take a trip to World Museum? It’s only a 10 minute walk from the residence, covering extensive collections from around the world. Walker Art Gallery is also close by and houses beautiful paintings, sculptures and decorative art from the 13th century, right the way through to the present day. The lecture theatre doesn’t need to be the only place you soak up a little bit of culture.

If you enjoy the theatre, both Liverpool Empire Theatre and The Royal Court Theatre are just a 15 minute walk from Liberty Atlantic Point. The theatres show an array of concerts and shows, also featuring some well-known comedy acts – there are discounted tickets available for students too. Additionally, Liverpool Echo Arena in King’s Dock is a 30 minute walk or 10 minute taxi journey away and hosts an assortment of events featuring some international superstars – and King’s Dock also has a selection of restaurants and shops.

A visit to the Beatles Story will give an insight into the fab fours’ lives, culture and of course, music. The International Beatleweek Festival is held in August and offers a range of entertainment, with live gigs, exhibitions, memorabilia sales, guest speakers and sightseeing tours.

  3. Getting active

Tickets for match days and tours of the stadiums are available for both Liverpool at Anfield and Everton at Goodison Park. If you prefer lower league football then you can take a ferry across the Mersey to watch Tranmere Rovers FC – it’s cheaper and the atmosphere is pretty much the same!

If golf is your forte, take a short trip across the water to nearby Hoylake, where you can check out the home of the Open Championship at The Royal Liverpool Golf Club. Also, sports fanatics can head straight over to Wavertree Sports Park which houses the Wavertree Athletics Centre and the Liverpool Aquatics Centre.

    Accreditations

    ANUK

Liberty Living operates in accordance with the National Code of Standards for student accommodation. The Code of Standards is run by ANUK (The Accreditation Network UK), the NUS, and Unipol Student Homes, and is supported by universities across the UK.

All of Liberty Living’s residences have been accredited by ANUK and run in accordance with the National Code of Standards.

    National Code of Standards logo

Liberty Living follow a distinct set of standards for our student accommodation, called the ANUK/Unipol National Codes. The purpose of these Codes, (membership of which is voluntary), is to provide students with professional housing services.

The standards chosen for the Codes reflect a balance of common sense obligations and responsibilities between landlords and tenants. They also reflect established best practice in the sector and are based on what an average student and their parents would expect of a good quality housing supplier. The standards are supported by the voice of students themselves through the National Union of Students.

What does being a member of the codes mean?

    • Both parties can enjoy the benefits of good standards of housing management and practice.
    • Misunderstandings and disputes are reduced.
    • If problems do occur they can be promptly resolved.
    • The independent complaints procedure operated by the Codes can be used for complaint resolution.

    Liverpool Student Homes

Liberty Atlantic Point is an ‘approved’ private student accommodation provider with Liverpool Student Homes, which is supported by Liverpool’s HE institutions. Liverpool Student Homes has criteria that must be met by landlords in order to register. These Standards include quality and safety bench marks that all registered properties must meet.
