  1. Social scenes

Liberty Court is located 15 minutes from the city centre, where you will find a range of bars, restaurants and nightclubs to keep you entertained in your spare time and at weekends here in Preston.

Preston isn’t short on places to eat out; there are a range of restaurants which suit all tastes and budgets, featuring cuisines from all over the world. The high street has an array of national chain favourites, which include; Nando’s, Pizza Express and Turtle Bay.

If you’re after something different, visit the one of many side streets of Preston to find some quaint independent cafes and restaurants. Some favourites include Deli Licious and Tiggis.

If you fancy a takeaway, head over to Friargate where you will find some treats including; Chinese, Indian and Italian. You’ll even find a McDonald’s and a Subway there – because no student city is complete without these ‘staples’!

Preston has some of the best bars in the North West and there is a selection of friendly student pubs close by to our student accommodation. The most popular is the Adelphi, 15 minutes from Liberty Court. It’s a large and busy place which is buzzing with students and there’s also an awesome heated beer garden. From there you can head down the road to the Lamb and Packet, Roper Hall and The Grey Friar before checking out the string of trendy bars that line the street towards town such as Baluga, The Academy, and Assembly.

Other top venues include Glovers Bar located on Glovers Court, a fantastic cocktail bar which hosts popular club nights – just over 15 minutes’ walk from the residence.

For a range of nightclubs, the city centre caters for most of what you are looking for; Roper Hall being a favourite amongst students due to its cheap and cheerful drinks. Plus, it plays some great music as well! Watch out for regular appearances by top local underground dance music night Beats of Rage too, taking place upstairs at the Adelphi throughout the year.

Macs and Kuckoo nightclubs are both modern, with plenty of great music.

If all that’s not enough, you should try Warehouse on St John’s Place. Three floors of popular indie and rock music make it Preston’s best alternative nightclub, once favoured by Joy Division.
